Maureen is a Certified Radiologic Technologist – R.T.(R)(ARRT) and member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. Originally from Ashford, Connecticut, she moved to the Gainesville area after graduating from E. O. Smith High School, located within UCONN campus. For 11 years she worked in sheet metal fabrication, inventory control, and as a quality control inspector, manufacturing various products including medical equipment components. After a major health complications and recovery in her late 20s and early 30s, she decided to embark on a major life change and go into the medical field to support others going through their own health journeys. Ultimately she decided to combine her knowledge of machinery with patient care and entered into the field of x-ray. She graduated as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society from Santa Fe College with an A.S. in Radiography in 2019.
During her time in the Santa Fe College Radiography Program she did multiple rotations at UF Health Shands Hospital, Malcolm Randall Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center, HCA Florida North Florida Hospital, and the UF Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Institute. After graduating the program she began working with the ARC team performing fluoroscopic exams for various research studies as well as working in urgent care performing conventional x-ray and patient care.
Now a full-time member of the ARC team since 2022, Maureen focuses on expanding her capabilities as a radiographer, medical professional, and research assistant to provide the best imaging and patient care possible. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, arts and crafts, crochet, and all kinds of DIY projects.
